High sending speed and deliverability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nAbout the Water Center for Agriculture<\/h3>\n
The Water Center for Agriculture (CAA) is a project funded by the Regional Government of Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins, through FIC R-2009, signed with InnovaChile from CORFO, with contributions from the National Irrigation Commission, the University of Concepci\u00f3n, the University of California, Davis, CODESSER and FEDEFRUTA.<\/p>\n
The Center is part of the Water Resources Department of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Concepci\u00f3n, and its facilities have been located in the city of San Fernando since April 2011.<\/p>\n
The main activities of the Water Center for Agriculture involve generating information on approaches and experiences at the local, watershed, national and international levels, in order to build, together with the stakeholders involved, a vision that enables progress in the integrated management of water resources.<\/p>\n
With this, the Water Center for Agriculture seeks to improve the availability and quality of water resources for their efficient use in agricultural activities.<\/p>\n
Objectives<\/h3>\n
The objectives of the Water Center for Agriculture were basically three: to have statistics for each email send, to have emails arrive within minutes, and to avoid using their own network resources to send them.<\/p>\n
Having advanced statistics on their email sends undoubtedly allows them to know the impact of each communication; having a sending engine capable of dispatching their newsletters quickly means that, just minutes after sending, every subscriber is able to open the newsletter in their inbox; and no longer sending from their own network infrastructure, which used to delay email delivery by several hours and sometimes meant emails were not delivered correctly, with no way of knowing what had happened with each of the subscribers they had sent to.<\/p>\n
All of this has been solved by using Mailrelay.<\/p>\n
Actions Taken<\/h3>\n
Because for a long period of time they ran their email marketing campaigns using their own network infrastructure, which (as happens with 99% of companies and organizations) was not suited to sending large volumes of emails, Mailrelay’s first task was to improve the sender domain’s reputation so that receiving servers would regain trust in the emails sent by the Water Center for Agriculture.<\/p>\n
For this task, we assigned their mailings a 100% verified outbound IP approved by the main ISPs, and duly informed them that this organization’s sends were completely legitimate, which increased email acceptance by 90%.<\/p>\n
Results<\/h3>\n
They have left behind the ineffective and complicated process of sending mass communications using their own network infrastructure, which, besides requiring a very high investment of time and consuming significant resources at the workplace where it takes place, offered no statistics or any kind of metrics on their sends.<\/p>\n
By using Mailrelay, the Water Center for Agriculture has substantially improved its email sending process, improving many aspects such as the deliverability of its communications, greater control over its database, and detailed reports for every newsletter sent.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the system’s statistics engine, they have absolute control over what happens to each email sent once it lands in the corresponding inboxes, as well as knowing the status of each send in real time as soon as it leaves Mailrelay’s servers.<\/p>\n
