WhatsApp Web is the version of WhatsApp you use from your computer’s browser, at web.whatsapp.com, linked to the account on your phone.<\/p>\n\n

Here’s how to log in, how many devices you can link, how to protect your chats and what you can do with it if you use it for your business.<\/p>\n\n

What is WhatsApp Web?<\/h2>\n\n

It’s a way to use your WhatsApp<\/a> account on a big screen, without installing anything. You see the same chats, type with your keyboard and send files stored on your computer.<\/p>\n\n

It isn’t a separate account. It works as a device linked to your phone, which remains the primary one. Messages are end-to-end encrypted, just like in the app.<\/p>\n\n

It works in the usual browsers, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari or Opera. If you prefer an application, WhatsApp also has a desktop app for Windows and Mac.<\/p>\n\n

How do you log in to WhatsApp Web?<\/h2>\n\n

You only need your phone at hand the first time:<\/p>\n\n

  2. On your phone, open WhatsApp and go to “Linked devices”.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Tap “Link a device” and scan the QR code on the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    On Android, “Linked devices” is in the three-dot menu. On iPhone, it’s in Settings or under your profile picture.<\/p>\n\n

    Can you log in without the QR code?<\/h2>\n\n

    Yes. If your phone’s camera doesn’t work, choose to link with your phone number on the QR screen. Enter your number and the website will show you an eight-character code.<\/p>\n\n

    Then, on your phone, open the WhatsApp notification or go to “Linked devices” and enter that code.<\/p>\n\n

    Up to four at a time, in addition to your primary phone. They can be computers, tablets or another phone.<\/p>\n\n
