You pay monthly or yearly, and in return you always have the latest version of the apps, cloud storage and services such as email and video calls.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It works as <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/saas-software-as-a-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SaaS<\/a>: Microsoft takes care of the servers, the updates and the backups. You use the apps on your computer, on your phone or in your browser.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the business plans, email runs on your own domain. It&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/corporate-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">corporate email<\/a> like sales@yourcompany.com, which you read in <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/outlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Outlook<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Are Office 365 and Microsoft 365 the same thing?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Almost. Office 365 was the name of the suite until April 21, 2020. On that day Microsoft renamed most of its plans to Microsoft 365, at the same price.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Office 365 still exists on some plans for large enterprises and education. They don&#8217;t always show up on its website.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Microsoft 365 plans for business<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Business plans support up to 300 users. For more than 300 users there are the Enterprise plans (E3 and E5). Prices change often: check them on Microsoft&#8217;s website before you decide.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both give you email with your domain, storage and video calls. Outlook.com, <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/gmail-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gmail<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/icloud-mail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iCloud Mail<\/a> are free.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can you use Microsoft 365 to send newsletters?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s not a good idea. Exchange Online limits each mailbox to 10,000 recipients a day and 30 messages a minute. By default, each email allows up to 500 recipients.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can do a <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/blog\/2026\/10\/21\/mass-email-outlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mass email in Outlook<\/a> with Word&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/mail-merge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mail merge<\/a>. It works for a few dozen contacts. If you go over the <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/sending-limits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sending limits<\/a> or get flagged as <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/spam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spam<\/a>, Microsoft can block sending from that mailbox. If it&#8217;s your business address, the block leaves you without email for your day-to-day work.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On top of that, Outlook, <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/blog\/2025\/05\/03\/how-to-meet-outlook-gmail-and-yahoo-requirements-to-keep-your-emails-out-of-spam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gmail and Yahoo<\/a> require <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/spf-sender-policy-framework\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SPF<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/dkim-domainkeys-identified-mail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DKIM<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/mailrelay.com\/en\/glossary\/dmarc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DMARC<\/a> from anyone who sends in volume.
