Link juice is a term used to measure the amount of authority that a link transfers to a referenced website via a URL. It is a very common SEO term, also known as link equity, which generally improves the ranking of the website receiving the link.<\/p>\n

To understand link juice, it is first important to clearly understand the concept of page authority<\/a>. Authority is the prestige a webpage holds in search engines, and this is generally measured by its number of inbound links. The more pages that link to it, the more authority it will have, as it implies the content is relevant and noteworthy.<\/p>\n

Thus, when one website links to another, the linking site transfers part of its authority to the linked page.<\/p>\n

1. Types of link juice<\/h2>\n

We can give and receive link juice from our own pages or from links on external sites, which is why there are two types of link juice:<\/p>\n
