What is a transactional email service?<\/strong> 
It\u2019s a platform that sends the automatic emails from your website, store or app for you: confirmations, invoices, passwords or notifications. Your system passes each email to it via SMTP or API, and the service takes care of delivery and stats. You\u2019ll find types and examples in our guide to transactional emails<\/a>.<\/p> <\/div> 
Which should I choose, SMTP or API?<\/strong> 
If you can\u2019t do any development, SMTP is the easiest option: you copy the server details into your app and start sending. If your team codes and you want to build sending into your processes, the API gives you more flexibility. We explain it in detail in SMTP and API for transactional emails<\/a>.<\/p> <\/div> 
Why not send them from my website\u2019s server?<\/strong> 
Because most hosting providers aren\u2019t built to send volume and they set limits. Also, without proper bounce and complaint handling, your domain can end up in spam, and with it the emails your customers are waiting for.<\/p> <\/div> 
Can I see whether my transactional emails are opened?<\/strong> 
Yes. Turn on open and click tracking and you\u2019ll see them in your reports, along with deliveries, bounces, complaints and unsubscribes. With SMTP tags in the subject line, you can separate invoices from passwords, for example.<\/p> <\/div> 
Do I need a dedicated IP?<\/strong>
