CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization)

What is CRO?

The word CRO is an acronym for the English term conversion rate optimization. CRO consists of a set of techniques aimed at increasing the number of website visitors who become customers or voluntarily register.

CRO focuses on optimizing the website to improve conversion. In other words, it ensures that the visitors (the traffic) we attract to our site take the desired actions.

1. How to optimize the conversion rate

Optimizing your website’s conversion rate is not an easy task, but various strategies can be applied. If well executed, they can help improve CRO on your site. Some common strategies include:

  • Pay attention to the copywriting on your website.
  • Include success stories and testimonials from other customers.
  • Use high-quality multimedia content (images and videos).
  • Always use responsive design.
  • Try to offer free resources.
  • Work on the content of your blog and social media.
  • Display attractive promotions and discounts.

2. The 5 phases of CRO

Since CRO is a strategy aimed at optimizing website conversions, it makes sense to divide it into several phases or stages. In CRO, there are typically five phases or stages:

– Identifying and analyzing problems. Aspects that can be improved are identified and analyzed, and priorities are set for those that can enhance CRO.

– Developing hypotheses. After identifying the problems, the necessary actions to resolve each one must be defined. Then, hypotheses are formulated regarding the potential results of implementing these improvements.

– Implementing tests. At this stage, actions are implemented, and necessary tests are conducted to verify whether the hypotheses from the previous phase were correct.

– Measuring the results obtained. Once the tests and trials are completed, the results are analyzed, and the ones that have positively impacted CRO are identified.

– Implement improvements and establish a cycle of continuous optimization. After implementing the improvements on the website, their effectiveness is monitored, and the process of identifying and analyzing problems is restarted to ensure continuous CRO improvement.
